the very first hand this dude had sat down to. Late sign up and all that. what could he be betting here. He have me after the flop or did he go runner runner on me? Or did I get soul read and he bet the J and knew I couldn't call with out a str8?

He could have completed with AJ, or a wide variety of J's. Sucks that you had no history or anything, that is a bit of a tough spot. Some people get stubborn with weak Aces there too, not sure if they would call a pot size with something like A5? That is just a great bluff spot for him, I dont think its to hard for him to make that play with a J given the board and betting.
